À propos de nous/About Us

Mission Statement

The Centre for Erotic Empathy is a collective of mental health professionals who include erotic well-being within the framework of mental health. Here, the psychological treatment for all individuals, relationships, and families focuses on connection rather than dysfunction. Through both education and psychotherapeutic intervention we provide innovative as well as evidence-based techniques in safe, dynamic opportunities for dialogue.

The Centre for Erotic Empathy's mission is to promote sustainable erotic fulfillment, sexual integrity, and ethical relating.

Meet Amanda

Whether you're single, dating, married, or dating-again, it can be a lonely jungle out there. And for most us, erotic well-being is tightly knit with mental health. If you are here, you know that its hard to feel well when your intimacy is not bringing you pleasure.

With 15 years experience in clinical practice as a psychotherapist, I can comfortably say you can't shock me. As you know, eroticism is not always sexual, and sex is not always erotic. Therapeutic success is rarely just the treatment of dysfunction; rather, it is an improvement in the quality of erotic fulfillment.

Couples tend to either avoid or immerse themselves in affection while struggling with their sexuality. Sexual shame and vulnerability are part of everyone's story, yet so many of those stories go untold. Even those who are lucky enough to have never been sexually violated would benefit from sharing tales of momentary embarrassment and tolerated disconnection.

To the public, as well as professionals with a shared interest in treatment, research, and education of erotic connection - Welcome! No question is silly. I am always happy to hear from you.

Meet Erika

How do people learn to feel comfortable with themselves, know what they want, set boundaries, and maintain an erotic connection with a partner over time? I was surprised that none of these important issues made an appearance in my clinical psychology doctoral program.

Additionally, body image dissatisfaction and dysmorphia can seriously derail one’s sexuality. While working with clients who have eating disorders, I realized that most of them had little to no experience speaking openly about such an important part of their lives. Many told me they had been in therapy for years without ever talking about sex; they understood from their therapist's silence that it was taboo.

I am passionate about helping people lead satisfying and meaningful lives and hope that my comfort dialoguing eroticism, my interest, and my experience, invite you to take a first step towards meeting your goals.

Meet Graham

Hello, I’m Graham,

I don't believe people should suffer loneliness and shame because of any part of their sexuality.  It has been a longstanding goal of mine to practice with a clinical interest in helping people with conflicted or problematic sexual attractions. I have learned from renowned experts in the field of child sexual abuse prevention, have written multiple papers on the topic, and have recently published a book chapter.

I believe in helping everyone build a happy and fulfilling life, regardless of who they are attracted to or what they have done. A deficit in one area of your life does not have to detract from the strengths in another. I take a person-centered approach, emphasizing your specific history, preferences, and experiences. I will treat you respectfully and do my best to understand you. We can tailor solutions for your unique goals, helping you engage in accountability, self-discovery, and growth.

When you work with me, you will get a safe space free from judgment. In the case of those who are sexually attracted to children, you can learn to manage your thoughts and feelings to prevent harm. For those who view child sexual exploitation material (CSEM) and wish to stop, we can explore your viewing habits in-depth and the possible reasons you view this material to help you stop and live a more fulfilling relational life free. Please do not stay isolated with any of your concerns; you need not be alone.
