À propos de nous/About Us

A serene landscape featuring rolling hills, lush greenery, and a clear blue sky.

Mission Statement

The Centre for Erotic Empathy is a collective of mental health professionals who include erotic well-being within the framework of mental health. Here, the psychological treatment for all individuals, relationships, and families focuses on connection rather than dysfunction. Through both education and psychotherapeutic intervention we provide innovative as well as evidence-based techniques in safe, dynamic opportunities for dialogue.

The Centre for Erotic Empathy's mission is to promote sustainable erotic fulfillment, sexual integrity, and ethical relating.

Meet Amanda

Whether you're single, dating, married, or dating-again, it can be a lonely jungle out there. And for most us, erotic well-being is tightly knit with mental health. If you are here, you know that its hard to feel well when your intimacy is not bringing you pleasure.

With 15 years experience in clinical practice as a psychotherapist, I can comfortably say you can't shock me. Though I am known as a sex therapist, I am actually more of an erotologist. I am fascinated by what makes people desire, and similarly, what kills it.

As you know, eroticism is not always sexual, and sex is not always erotic. Therapeutic success is rarely just the treatment of dysfunction; rather, it is an improvement in the quality of erotic fulfillment.

Couples tend to either avoid or immerse themselves in affection while struggling with their sexuality. Sexual shame and vulnerability are part of everyone's story, yet so many of those stories go untold. Even those who are lucky enough to have never been sexually violated would benefit from sharing tales of momentary embarrassment and tolerated disconnection.

To the public, as well as professionals with a shared interest in treatment, research, and education of erotic connection - Welcome! No question is silly. I am always happy to hear from you.

Meet Graham

Hello, I’m Graham,

If you are experiencing relationship challenges, intimacy concerns, anxiety, or are simply trying to understand yourself better, I can offer a safe space to explore these feelings without judgment.

I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to build a fulfilling and meaningful life. My approach is person-centered, emphasizing your unique history, values, and experiences. We can work together to achieve greater self-understanding, healthier relationships, and lasting personal growth. My goal is to create an environment where you feel heard and accepted.

I work with individuals, couples, and families on a wide range of concerns. These  include anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, boundary setting and issues related to intimacy and human sexuality.

Over the course of my training and research, I have also developed a specialized clinical interest in working with individuals experiencing conflicted or problematic sexual attractions. I have trained with internationally recognized experts in the field of child sexual abuse prevention, written multiple academic papers on the topic, and recently published a book chapter. My aim is to provide a confidential, non-judgmental space where clients can better understand themselves, reduce shame, and work toward lives that align with their values.

Whatever brings you to therapy, I am committed to meeting you with empathy, curiosity, and respect.

Meet Carly

I am a seasoned social worker with experience in various community settings, and different age groups including children, adolescents, and families. I also have experience working in the public healthcare and hospital system; I counsel and guide individuals and families coping with chronic illnesses such as cancer, aging and loss of autonomy, end of life, grief, and loss.

My approach is empathic and practical, and rooted in strengths-based ideology.

Let’s find the strength and resilience in your story, and use it to anchor difficult decisions, transitions, or perhaps, greater fulfillment.

Receipts can be sent to your insurance company to process your claim. Clients whose insurance policies cover Social Worker services can benefit from reimbursement.

Meet Jacklyn

Hi! I’m Jacklyn,

I’m thrilled to be joining the team as an administrator. I’m currently completing my BA in psychology, and I intend to pursue a master’s degree in sex and marital therapy upon graduation. I’m extremely passionate about the role of erotic empathy in overall mental health and relationship wellbeing.

Funny enough, I met Amanda while working at a consignment store. I take it as proof that you never know where life (or a good pair of second-hand shoes) will take you. I’m excited to bring my skills and experience to this role, and support the team behind the scenes as they facilitate meaningful work.

Please direct your administrative concerns to me at

admin@eroticempathy.ca. I am happy to help with scheduling, rescheduling, receipts, and required documents.
